A single ticket for passengers aged 65 or older costs 2,20 € (normal price 2,90 €) for trips beginning between 9.30–14.30 from Mon – Fri and on mid-week holidays.

How to purchase discounted tickets on the OSL App

  • Log in to the OSL App and use strong identification. If you already have a customer account with the online store (waltti.fi), you may log in to the OSL App with that account.
  • On the “Buy” tab, choose “Single ticket”, and then the customer group “Senior 65 y.”, click “Continue”.
  • Choose your preferred payment method and finalize the purchase.
  • Open the ticket on your phone screen before boarding the bus.

Open the ticket you purchased on your OSL App and place your phone onto the scanner surface. The scanner reads the small QR code the best, so do not enlarge the image.

How to buy discounted tickets for the OSL travel card

Discounted tickets can only be purchased for personal OSL cards as loaded value. You can acquire a personal OSL travel card with loaded value of 3,00 € from Oulu10 or by ordering one from the online store (waltti.fi). The travel card with ticket will be delivered within two weeks.

  • If the OSL travel card only has value for purchasing single tickets, place the card under the ticket machine’s screen.
  • If the card has enough value to purchase a single ticket, a green circle with a checkmark appears on the screen. You will get the discount automatically during the discounted period.
  • If the value on the card is under 5 €, the ticket machine will display the value.

A single ticket may be enough for the return trip

A single ticket is active for 90 minutes. Even if the ticket only has two minutes of activity left, you can still board a bus as long as the ticket machine displays green. You can finish your trip even if the ticket’s activity ends during the trip.

Season tickets are the cheapest

With a season ticket, you can make unlimited journeys. Season tickets for passengers aged 65 or older and adults are the same price: a 30-day ticket costs 64,00 € (2,13 € per day), and a 90-day ticket costs 172,00 € (1,91 € per day).

Tickets, routes, and timetables on the OSL App

Bus tickets are sold on the OSL App and on apps of other providers. Some third-party providers may charge an additional operator’s payment fee or service fee for the mobile ticket. On the OSL App, the prices always follow OSL’s price list. You should check the price of the ticket before purchase, since tickets purchased on the app cannot be returned. Mobile tickets are activated upon purchase.

Don’t wait too long at the bus stop

The OSL App is useful when you don’t want to wait for a long time at the cold bus stop. The App’s route guide displays when the buses will arrive at bus stops in real-time. By using location data, the route guide displays the time it takes to walk from the bus stops to your destination when traveling to a new location. The app also displays the next stops on the route. With the App, you will also be aware of possible traffic interruptions.
