Students travel on OSL services at a cheaper price than other customer groups. The student ticket can be loaded onto the OSL app or an OSL card.
Full-time students
A full-time student who is enrolled in a degree program lasting at least eight months can buy a season ticket at a discounted price. The discount is obtained by updating your customer group to student.
Here’s how to get a student-priced ticket in the OSL app
You can get a student-priced ticket by registering in the OSL app. After registering, when you try to buy a student-priced ticket, the app provides a link to the Waltti online store. The right to purchase a student-priced ticket is done in the online store. You log into the online store with the same username as in the app.
The student status verification process begins in the “My Information” section of the Waltti online store. There are two ways to verify your student status in this section; you can choose which method to use.
The new verification method involves moving from the online store to the “My Studyinfo” (Oma Opintopolku) service. In “My Studyinfo,” you use strong authentication and grant consent for your study data to be used in Waltti services. Once this is done, your student status can be verified without needing to retrieve and copy a separate link into the online store.
The old method of verifying student status (copying a separate study record link to your travel account) will remain available alongside the new method for the time being.
