It has come to light that the validity of the student ticket purchase right was updated only until 31 August 2026, even though it should have been updated until 31 January 2027.
Please check that your eligibility to purchase student tickets is valid until the end of January next year and that you are able to purchase student-priced tickets going forward.
An error detected in our ticketing and payment system was fixed on the afternoon of Monday, 24 August.
We apologize for the extra trouble and inconvenience caused by this error.
Verify your student status twice a year
Student status will henceforth be verified on a semester-by-semester basis, in connection with the autumn and spring semesters:
- Verification completed between 1 January and 31 July is valid until 31 August.
- Verification completed between 1 August and 31 December is valid until 31 January.
How to verify your student status
The student status verification process begins in the “My Information” section of the Waltti online store. There are two ways to verify your student status in this section; you can choose which method to use.
The new verification method involves moving from the online store to the “My Studyinfo” (Oma Opintopolku) service. In “My Studyinfo,” you use strong authentication and grant consent for your study data to be used in Waltti services. Once this is done, your student status can be verified without needing to retrieve and copy a separate link into the online store.
The old method of verifying student status (copying a separate study record link to your travel account) will remain available alongside the new method for the time being.
