The rest of the OSL bus line network will switch to summer time on June 1st. The trunk lines have already been running according to the summer timetables since the beginning of May. The summer timetable period for the trunk lines is May 1–August 31, and for the other lines June 1–August 11.
When planning the summer timetables, we have taken customer feedback and passenger numbers into account, aiming to even out the congestion on some lines that appeared last summer.
On Midsummer Eve, all departures before 2:00 PM will be operated to the Saturday timetable. On Midsummer Day, we will not operate at all. During Suomipop and Qstock, we will run additional trips.
Changes in summer traffic compared to last summer
Compared to last summer, we have added individual departures in the early morning to trunk lines 1, 2, 3, and 5, and the interval is 20 minutes after seven o’clock.
Due to a low number of passengers, we do not operate line 15N. In the summer, the line has had an average of six passengers, most of whom boarded between the city center and Toppilansalmi. We compensate for line 15N by adding two departures of line 20N on Fridays and Saturdays.
Compared to previous summers, there are better connections to Tyrnävä this coming summer. Line 56Z, which started in the autumn, also operates in the summer. The new line 56B has one trip on weekdays in the mornings from Murto to Tyrnävä, from where the same vehicle continues to Oulu under the line designation 54B.
Usually line 18, which takes a break during the summer, will run next summer on weekdays with 60-minute intervals between 6 AM and 5 PM.
Some of the Line 27 trips that go via the motorway will be operated as Line 23, whose route goes through Haukipudas, Herukka, Rajakylä, and Linnanmaa to downtown Oulu. On Saturdays and Sundays, we operate one of the line 23 trips as line 27 to maintain the timetable accuracy.
New Line 51N
The new night line 51N will start operating when the summer timetable begins. The line runs the route Oulu city center – Karjasilta – Höyhtyä – Poikkimaantie – Pohjantie. When turning onto Pohjantie, the route is the same as that of line 51. The interval between departures is one hour.
Route changes
Line 4N does not deviate at the Iinatti Oritputaantie terminal stop.
School traffic in summer
Lines 23, 26, 38, 40, 53, and 54B will run a few trips for a week at the beginning of June and August in both months due to the slightly longer school year of secondary education institutions compared to other schools.
