New line 2X starts operating

Line 2X offers a faster connection from Ritaharju and Vähäoja to the city center, and further to Kaakkuri and Metsokangas. Line 2X runs on weekdays in the mornings and afternoons at 30-minute intervals.

Routes with changes

  • The starting stop of line 2N will move from Ritaharju to Kaijonharju, and the route will be straightened in the Hiirosen and Kaakkuri areas. Line 2N will run the route Kaijonharju-Tuira-city center-Limingantulli-Joutsentie-Hiironen-Kaakkuri-Metsokangas.
  • Line 5N will in the future run from Ritaharju to Kivikkokangas. Saarela will be outside the route of line 5N.
  • Line 9 will go via Kiulukangas and its frequency will increase from 60 minutes to 30 minutes.
  • The route of line 10 will be extended to Ruskonselkä and will run on Parkkisenkangas Road to Erkkolansilta.
  • The route of line 20N will be extended from the center to Heikkilänkangas, thus line 20N will replace the discontinued line 4N.
  • Lines 57 and 57T will in the future go via Professorintie instead of OYS, which will speed up travel by about eight minutes.

Discontinued lines

  • Line 4N will be discontinued, but it will be replaced by line 20N, which will run to Heikkilänkangas.
  • Line 10P will be discontinued, but the public transport connection to Ruskonselkä will be maintained. In the future, line 10 will run to Ruskonselkä.
  • Line 15N will be discontinued due to low demand.

Changes to timetables

In timetable planning, efforts have been made to improve the punctuality of trunk lines 1, 2, 3, and 5. Reductions and additions to trunk line services are based on passenger number developments.

  • Three weekday departures have been added to line 1, and seven departures have been removed from Sundays.
  • Evening departures on Sundays for lines 2 and 3 have been reduced; line 2 loses two departures and line 3 loses four.
  • For line 5, three weekday departures will be removed from the timetable, but alternative connections can be provided for passengers on other lines.

Changes to city and regional lines have also taken into account passenger trends. Underused departures have been cut, and departures have been added on routes and times with high passenger demand.

  • For line 8, one departure will be removed on Saturdays and five departures on Sundays.
  • Line 18 will have its weekday frequency increased from 30 minutes to 20 minutes.
  • Line 20B will run in the evenings every 30 minutes instead of every 60 minutes.
  • One evening departure will be added to line 22.
  • One weekday departure is removed from line 34.
  • Some departures on line 35 are replaced with trips on lines 35B and 35BK.
  • One morning departure on line 35K will be operated as line 35BK.
  • The timetable of line 38B+ allows transfers from other lines passing through Haukipudas. The timetables particularly take into account the travel of students arriving from the direction of Ii.
  • Line 41 operates on weekdays and on Sundays also after 7 PM from Oulu city center to Muhos.
  • Some daytime departures on line 52 are operated as line 52A.
  • One additional Monday to Friday departure is added to line 53, arriving at Lumijoki around noon.
