Our goal is to create clear and easy-to-use public transportation. We will try to achieve that now and in the future with our development work. Our brand name (in finnish) “Oulun seudun liikenne”, briefly “OSL”, is a regional brand because our range of activity spans multiple areas. We want to show that public transportation is for everybody, and to encourage everyone to use our services more frequently.
You will recognize our buses from this sign:
Area of activity
Oulu Regional Transport’s area of activity includes Hailuoto, Ii, Kempele, Liminka, Lumijoki, Muhos, Oulu, and Tyrnävä. Our region has a zoneless fixed price system. Ticket prices are determined by the customer group. The services are funded mostly in shares by the member municipalities, and with state support. Approximately half of the revenue comes from ticket sales.
Oulu Regional Transport designs, organizes and supervises the public bus transportation activities bearing authoritative responsibility. We purchase the services from private transport companies.
