Koiviston Auto Oulu Oy has won the tender for operating OSL’s lines 4, 4A, 4N, 8N, 9, 9K, 34, 35, 35N, 35B, 35BK, 35K, 40, 40+, 41, 41K, 41K+ and 65. The line number 65 will be introduced in the summer of 2027. Until then, the Hailuoto line will be operated by its current operator under line numbers 59 and 59S.

The total value of the transport contract for the entire contract period, including the two-year option, is 74 million euros (VAT 0 %). The contract period starts on 7 June 2027 and ends on 3 June 2035. If the option period is exercised, the contract period will end on 3 June 2037.

The buses operating under the new contract will include stop announcements and stop displays based on real-time tracking. On the new, larger display, passengers will see not only the next stop but also a couple of subsequent stops and the final destination.

The contract includes a total of 27 standard buses, all of which are electric. Backup buses are powered by electricity and biodiesel.

Three bids were received for the tender: from Oubus Oy, Nobina Oy, and Koiviston Auto Oulu. All bids met OSL’s requirements for technical performance and professional qualifications. The bid from Koiviston Auto Oulu was the most economically advantageous overall.
