We operate on Christmas Eve, December 24th, according to Saturday timetables. We will run all trips departing before 4:00 PM. Trips departing before 4:00 PM will be completed to their final stops. The Hailuoto line will also run on Christmas Eve according to the Saturday schedule until 4:00 PM.
During Christmas, drivers also take time to relax and enjoy the holiday. On Christmas Day, December 25th, we will not operate at all. We return to the roads on Boxing Day, December 26th, following the Sunday schedule. Read more about Christmas and New Year’s changes in our announcement. Tax and Price Changes
Next year, the value-added tax on public transport tickets will decrease from 14 percent to 13.5 percent. The change in VAT will not affect ticket prices. The OSL card registration fee will drop from €3.80 to €3.00 (incl. 25.5% VAT).
Service Area Expansion
At the beginning of 2026, Hailuoto will officially become part of the OSL area. Schedules will remain unchanged. All OSL tickets will be valid on the routes as before. Buses will operate under the familiar route numbers 59 and 59S until a new operator starts service on the route in the summer of 2027. Read more in our announcement regarding Hailuoto.
Variable weather
Freezing and above-freezing temperatures that alternate back and forth can make bus stops and roads really slippery. Please pay attention to traffic safety. Thank you for showing the stop signal with a reflector or your phone’s light early enough to ensure a safe braking distance. Please give way to an oncoming bus, as a bus can skid on a slippery road. If you notice slipperiness or other hazards at bus stops, please send us feedback through this form.
Customer Feedback
Our customers gave us feedback in our autumn customer satisfaction survey – the score was 4.14/5. Our NPS index was 51, which is excellent for a public operator. The NPS index ranges from minus one hundred to one hundred.
This year, the number of trips made with OSL buses has increased significantly. We have had the pleasure of transporting many of you to visit friends, to school, to work, and to many other destinations. This year might become a record year in terms of the number of trips.
